Humour

ByAdmin  NOV 2, 2023  #Blog, #eBooks Posted by Geo 10-30-23 Halloween is nearly here as I write this. I am enjoying the fall weather outside. My cat Pepper is chasing leaves around like they have a life of their own. Winter still seems a respectable distance away from me. Maybe it won’t be too hard a winter. If I was a farmer I could pick up a caterpillar or open the almanac and find out. I’m not, and I don’t even know one anymore that I could ask. Funny, because back in the old days when this was just a little

Notes from the Edge 04-21-2024 E.R. Visit Wound up in the E.R. the other evening/morning with my wife who was not feeling well; wow, what an eye opener that was. Got there the previous afternoon at around 4:00 PM or so. It was semi busy, looked about the same as it did twenty years ago, the last time I was in an E.R. waiting anyway; but within just a few moments I realized how different it was. The first thing I noticed was Homeless People in the ER. Lounging, stealing pens and talking nurses and security staff into crackers, sodas,

News | Trucks stuck in 4 wheel low Last Winter: Trucks Stuck in 4 wheel low: For you that don’t know, I live in the north, close to Canada, and this past year we seemed to get a lot more snow and cold than usual. I went out one day to get the truck ready for a run into town. Normallynot a big deal, but I had not started it in a while, a big mistake, yes, and I had not driven it in the snow. My ten minute (My estimate)warm up the truck and get-it-ready-to-go trip turned into a few

Oct 19th 2023 I spent today updating websites and working on interior files and covers for the ES series, so you are going to end up with a partially recycled blog from a few million years ago when Jesus and I were in grade school together. I mean, of course, Jesus, Wanda and Pedro’s son. So don’t write me and tell me I picked on religion, I picked on Spanish friends instead. So, the new covers for the ES series are done. Amazon has them, I ran out of fluid in my eyes so I did not get D2D done,

10-14-23 Well, storm six thousand fifty-three is on the way. They say we will have a foot of snow over night. Timefor me to move to south America. Of course, then I would have the hotweather and the Guerrilla fighters to complain about or get killedby. Hmmm. Well, maybe I’ll stay put, the snow and cold has not killedme yet! This was me and Dell screwing around trying to think up our own GiecoCommercial. Sometimes we get a little stupid when we’re brain storming stuff. But I liked this one… Gieco Commercial Idea: Geo Dell & W. Sweet © 2023

Notes from the Edge: October 13th 2023 I thought about entitling this what the Hell is wrong with me but Idon’t like to get too dramatic. Even so, there is something wrongwith me. I just don’t seem to see things the same way as other peopledo. For instance, just before I sat down to write this I turned thechannel to a movie channel to listen to movies while I work.Pathetic, I know, but I do it every night. The T.V. Is behind me so Ihave to turn to see it. So, I don’t. I just listen. But, sometimesit’s so good

Ten things that evolve as you age… After you take a drink of anything, you sometimes have to remember to close your mouth and swallow. You would think that would be forever automatic, but it isn’t. When your socks evolve into left and right socks? It is time for new socks. Bending over causes a gas, umm, problem… You find yourself at the backdoor staring out at the backyard. You know you went out there for a reason but you cannot remember what it was. So, you close the door, head back to the TV, and then you remember

The Joseph Short Story During the war years in the early 20th century, Joseph Short, a wealthy clothing mill owner, began a new division producing trousers for the United States Military. At the same time his own business was reduced by half, due to a cotton blight and rations having been cut even further as cotton was appropriated by the government for the war effort. Short had invested the sum of $58.000 in his mill and was stretched to the financial limit. The contracts for trousers were filled and payments were forthcoming from the military, but there were massive
