Notes from the Edge – 11-09-23

Posted by Geo 11-09-23 Good morning to all. It doesn’t seem possible to me that this year is nearly over with. Pretty soon I’ll be writing 2024. Work: I spent this past week working on the new Earth’s Survivors books. I also spent some time on The Zombie Plagues books and six. Definition, characters, plot and more. My goal a few months ago was to be able to concentrate on the one series and write everything else I felt like writing on the side. I guess I have achieved that goal. Spring of next year will bring a new Zombie

If you have lived any kind of life at all you have made mistakes. It comes with the human territory, I think it probably comes with any thinking animal’s territory.  Those mistakes might be small or they may be large and overshadowing. You may be ridiculed because of them or they may be severe enough that you will have to pay for them. In this country, unless you are rich, that means jail or prison. You may do time for whatever you did. There is no other payment acceptable in the United States. This country does not believe in rehabilitation, just

Notes from the Edge 04-21-2024 E.R. Visit Wound up in the E.R. the other evening/morning with my wife who was not feeling well; wow, what an eye opener that was. Got there the previous afternoon at around 4:00 PM or so. It was semi busy, looked about the same as it did twenty years ago, the last time I was in an E.R. waiting anyway; but within just a few moments I realized how different it was. The first thing I noticed was Homeless People in the ER. Lounging, stealing pens and talking nurses and security staff into crackers, sodas,

The third year of COVID 19 I have spent the past week getting things rolling. I think, like many of you, I believed this would be over quickly and we would be back to whatever sort of new life-mixed with our old life-that remained. As the time goes on I can see that is not going to be the case. It isn’t surprising that we have now been turned on each other. That is politics, get us to fight each other about what it is, when we should be free to go out again, when it will end, and

Fat Men

Posted on April 4, 2024 by dello

Posted by Dell 01-20-2024 Okay, today I wanted to talk about a very sensitive subject, fat. Being a fat guy myself I completely understand the problems that fat men face. So today I have some tips that I hope will help you as much as they have helped me. As usual I would like to handle what I have to say with sensitivity and empathy, but we all know I probably won’t. Just please don’t write and tell me I am mean to fat people, I am one, so the rule I am one so I can say whatever the hell I want

Home A brief explanation of me Home:I was watching TV a little while ago and remembered an incident from my twenties. Racing down a farm road in the middle of winter; icy surface; snowbanks higher than the cars, and me and my buddy chasing each other and barely keeping control of those cars, glancing off the snowbanks, laughing crazily. Sounds irresponsible, I know, but it’s a real memory from my life, irresponsible or not. When I was nine my parents moved back to northern NY, a place I did not remember and did not like at all. The kids thought

(This is true experience. It relates to actual addiction and true prison and life experiences.) Addiction and Sobriety  If you have lived any kind of life at all you have made mistakes. Christmas is coming

Posted by Dell 12-21-23 3:21 A.M. Well here it is 2023 nearly finished, and it doesn’t look any different than 2022 did. Same politicians with the same promises, same clouds in the sky, same snow on the ground, same Turkeys trying to eat my Fred cat. I know it sounds funny but it isn’t. As you probably didn’t know we’re out here in the boondocks, well, the lesser boondocks, okay, the suburbs of the boondocks. There are some woods here, okay? The turkeys live in the woods, and that’s fine. That’s fine because Fred lives in the house. No problem,

Walmart

Dell 12-18-23 Walmart: We went out to start the Van three days bac and it had a dead battery. Turns out the ground was loose and so it wasn’t properly charging. Funny, we just had winter tires put on at Walmart, an Oil change and the Van winterized. Guess they missed it.So, I thought, okay, I’ll buy a new battery, just to be safe, and I looked up one on Walmart, it said it was in stock, and ordered it and they said it would be delivered the same day. Three days ago. It never showed up and the next

Fort Drum NY My Home Town Fort Drum Fort drum is the nearby military base (U. S. ARMY) to me: As in just a few hundred feet away from my house. The Tug Hill Plateau adjoins it and that adjoins millions of acres of Forever Wild Lands that extend from Northern New York far into Southern New York. I live in a tiny village of a few hundred people; the closest city is about seven miles away, and small for a city: In fact, this whole area probably would have slipped into oblivion years ago if not for the base,
